02/09/2010 ~
AviAtlas presented the Tucson area hotspot collaboration to the members of Tucson Audubon Society yesterday and recieved a warm welcome! The presentation included a brief tour of user added photos and a 'how to' session talking about editing and adding data. Look for more activity in the Tucson Area as we work to build the Hotspot Descriptions for publication.
AviAtlas Gains a Supporter sharing Spain's hotspots!
11/09/2009 ~
As most of us know, this website is built, maintained and edited by birders free of charge and the thing that really gets us super excited is seeing contributors from far away places come on board. We wanted to give a shout-out to our new contributor sharing info in Spain. Thanks so much for your contributions and please spread the word!
New Home Page!!
09/09/2009 ~
As you may have noticed we've built a new launching page to bring so many of the wonderful tidbits of information up to the surface. I hope you enjoy these added features and rest assured AviAtlas as you've know it still lives. Simply click on the "Launch AviAtlas Map" to access the atlas.
Welcome TUCSON!!
09/09/2009 ~
AviAtlas and the Tucson Audubon Society are joining forces to build a detailed catalog of birding locations for the Greater Tucson
area. The aim is to work with a local organization like TAS and utilize
it's powerful network of birders to assemble both a digital and printed
resource for the birding community.
We've agreed to put our
knowledge of maps and graphics to work and Tucson Audubon is gathering
community participants to contribute information. The result is going
to be site descriptions, photographs, and sighting data for over 50
birding locations in and around Tucson. This information is then going
to be compiled and edited into a Tucson Birding Map available through
Tucson Audubon. For more information check out the article in the
latest Tucson Audubon Newsletter
